Intent
Children are at the heart of everything we do. Children learn that they are valued, they are unique and have the power to do wonderful, amazing things. (Anything is Possible) We enable children to become healthy, independent responsible members of their community and the wider community. (global and local parkgate) We help them to appreciate what it means to be a member of a diverse society. (global parkgate)
We want children to recognise positive relationships and make informed decisions about their health and well-being, all of which will enable them to have a happy, healthy and successful life journey. (healthy me) We help children to develop a strong growth mindset including resilience, perseverance, a good work ethic, co-operation with others. Collectively this prepares them well for later life.
We develop children’s emotional literacy such that children are able to communicate effectively, recognise the feelings of others and manage their own feelings. We challenge children’s schemas, for example around stereotyping.
