Holiday in Term Time
Parkgate Infants and Nursery discourages parents from taking holidays during term time.
The school will not authorise holidays in term time unless there are exceptional circumstances when you would need to gain permission from the headteacher
Severe Weather Procedure
In the event of bad weather a notice will be placed on the school gates and school closures are announced on BBC Three Counties Radio (103.8 FM/95.5 FM or 630 MW/1161 MW) and Mercury FM (96.6FM). The school phones will not be answered until after 8.15 am.
Hertfordshire uses the Everbridge website to inform parents about school closures. Everbridge will contact by email those parents who have registered with them. To register please follow the link below:
We use the School Gateway app to send letters and alerts to parents/carers. The app is also used for booking parent evening slots, so it is important to download and sign up to the app.
Please use the instructions below.

In EYFS (Nursery and Reception) we use the Tapestry app to share learning with parents.
Observations of your child’s learning in the classroom are recorded on Tapestry and shared regularly with you so that you are kept informed of the learning taking place. Observations include photographs, written commentary and sometimes videos. Parents are invited to share their own observations from home, in order that we are able to build a full picture of your child’s development in partnership with parents.
Home learning activities, such as phonics sheets to practice new sounds as they are taught, are also shared with parents via the Tapestry app.
In Key Stage 1, home learning is shared via the Seesaw class app.
Seesaw allows you and your child to view the home learning activities each week and respond to them with photographs, audio or video submissions. The class teacher is able to give feedback on the work submitted directly via the app to support the home school partnership.
